-Do not miss meals. You should always eat smaller meals more often as this helps keep your metabolism going. If you constantly miss
or avoid meals thinking that will help you lose weight it will actually have the opposite effect as your body will think food is in short supply and may store more carbohydrates as fat, it does this to help in times of ‘food shortage’.
- If you are stressed, exercise can help in more than one way, it releases endorphins which help you feel better instantly ,and uses up stress chemicals present in the blood like cortisol. You should always work your maximum heart rate out before you undertake any strenuous exercise program. To do this, deduct your age from 220. ie age 35= 185 is the maximum recommended heart rate for a 35 year old.
- Try and avoid too much white sugar in foods, this will help control cravings for sweet foods. Also learn the difference between eating when your hungry and just eating because you are bored.
- Drink as much water as possible, this will flush toxins from the body, which are often stored in fat cells- thus reducing the size of fat cells
- Try and cook smaller meal sizes, you can always have something healthy after if you are still hungry.
