What is hypnosis/what are trance states?
Hypnosis is just a name given to a natural state of being, consider it a changed state of awareness. It is very much like a daydream kind of state, you experience trance everyday, you just dont recognise these times as trance states. It is nothing new, it has been used for centuries even in ancient Greece and Egypt.

Can I bring a friend ?
Of course, you can bring someone along who you will feel comfortable with. If you are at all unsure this might actually help! I see just as many female clients as male ones, but you are quite welcome to be accompanied.

Is it safe?
Yes absolutely, you can come out of it at any time you like, there is no mind control, no relentlessly doing things against your will.

Can I show you details of success with previous clients?
No, I am ethically bound to keep all my clients details strictly confidential, and under no circumstances can I discuss their cases. You would expect me to keep your details private wouldnt you ?


Can i get stuck in a hypnotic trance?

No, of course not. Just like you cannot get stuck in a daydream.

How does hypnosis work?
We all have abilities and resources we do not make use of sufficiently well. Mnay people seem to always have their lives in check, these people are using their resources more than those who dont have their lives in check. These resources are stored in the sub conscious part of the mind, and only by using hypnosis can we learn to access them.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes, it happens to us all everyday- for example when we start to fantasise about things every 60 -90 minutes. However, if someone didnt want to enter a trance state- as in a hypnosis session, then they just wouldnt let it work.

Will I be asleep?

No, you will be more aware than usual- hypnosis is not about sleeping, just accessing another state of mind. Often during a trance session, you may talk with the therapist so of course you cant be asleep.

Can I be made to do anything I dont want to?
No,absolutely not- YOU are in control at all times.

How will I feel?
Just much calmer and more relaxed.

Will I remember the session?
Almost everybody does.

How does a therapist induce hypnosis?
I will just get you to close your eyes and guide you through some progression relaxation techniques, watching how you respond and acting accordingly.
